Slow Food Seacoast Seeks New Board Members
Interested in Joining Slow Food Seacoast? Our Board has Openings!
Slow Food Seacoast is seeking additional board members to join our group of passionate and engaged food lovers. Together we work to create a food system that is based on food that tastes good, is produced with clean, sustainable methods and recognizes the need for just and fair treatment of the people involved at all levels. To achieve these goals, we promote biodiversity, support local producers who focus on heirloom plants and heritage breeds of animals, and partner with other like-minded organizations. Education is the primary focus of all our work.
Our Board is Collaborative and Inspired
We meet monthly, usually on the first Sunday of the month in Portsmouth or Dover. Board members commit between 2 – 10 additional hours per month beyond the meeting, depending on what is happening with current projects and upcoming events. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, a subordinate chapter of Slow Food USA. As such, there are many aspects to running an organization that are either shared or delegated to specific board members depending on skills and desires of the standing members. These include coordinating volunteers, event planning, public outreach, organizational skills, finances (treasurer), social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), and engaging with initiatives at the National level. All ages, skills, ideas and inspirations are valued and welcome.
