11th Annual 25-Mile Thanksgiving Celebration

Sunday November 20 from 4-7pm

Portsmouth Women’s City Club

Join us on November 20 for our 11th Annual 25-Mile Thanksgiving Celebration. The “25-Mile” (as it is affectionately nick-named) began in 2006 as the 100-mile Thanksgiving, a twist on the 100-Mile Diet where people challenge themselves to source all the food they eat within 100 miles of their home.  As our local food shed has grown more robust over the past 11 years, we’ve upped the challenge by decreasing the miles. So git yer local food on and join us this year!

Slow Food Seacoast provides the locally raised turkey and guests bring the side dishes. This year our turkeys are being raised by Red Cardinal Farm, in Nottingham, NH.

Guests are requested to bring a potluck dish that contains at least one ingredient sourced within 25 miles of your home. Some local food options include fall greens, onions, potatoes, squashes and pumpkins, turnips and rutabagas, apples and cider, dried beans, fish, eggs and cheese. You can easily procure your ingredients at the first Seacoast Eat Local Winter Market on Saturday, Nov 19th at the Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford, NH.

To minimize waste and cleanup time, please bring your own “dining kit” (plate, bowl, drinkware, cutlery, and napkin). This event is BYOB, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

TICKETS: $12 adult;/ $10 Slow Food Members/Students; no charge for children accompanied by adults.

Ticket includes locally raised turkey, the potluck buffet.
